Can you please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your musical journey and background?

Hi! My name is Carrie and I am so happy to get to be here and share my artistic expression with you!! Music is life and so very powerful. It has always been there for me and continues to be. It is a creative platform that is unlimited and universal.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound and style?


Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar and Blondie. Growing up, these women proved themselves and gave a voice to those who did not have one.

Can you share a specific artist or album that has had a significant impact on your music?

I remember hearing Madonna for the 1st time and her voice was so crystal clear I felt a presence and a inspiration. It was the coolest feeling.


What’s your creative process like when you’re composing or writing a new song?

I hear lyrics in my head and write them down. Then comes the beat, melody and arrangement. I love the process. It is like therapeutic healing for me.


Among all the songs you’ve created, do you have a personal favorite?

YES! Spiritual Gangsta. It is about being so spiritual you don’t need to follow all the rules and live by them. If so, what makes it special to you? The video was shot on the mountain top in Malibu.


Can you share the story or inspiration behind that particular song?

When I lived in Malibu, I was attending Pepperdine for a Poetry class and also working at a Treatment Center. I wrote the song for my clients that were struggling.


Let’s talk about your latest song. What’s the title, and what’s the story or message behind it?

My latest song, SOBRIETY is about my 16 years staying clean and sober. For me, it’s all about giving back and what I can add to the stream of life.


Share a memorable or unique experience from one of your live performances.

I think one of my favorite performances was at The Mint in Los Angeles. I remember the crowds participation was incredible and everyone was dancing.


Beyond music, do you have any hobbies or interests that you’re passionate about?

Yes, having studies psychology has helped me understand others and given me more empathy. I love being a psychotherapist by day and ‘rock star’ by night.

How do they influence your music? My client always inspire me and I am always learning from them. I journal and practice piano in between my sessions. Music always lifts up my energy and I share with them other artists and ask about their musical interest. Music is a healthy coping skills.


Is there a dream collaboration you’d like to pursue in the future?

I would love to work with Eminem, Shakira, Dr. Dre, Gwen Stephanie and DJ Rap.


What advice would you give to aspiring musicians who are just starting their journey in the music industry?

Never stop believing in yourself and always stay true to yourself. Be authentic.
